Paul van Son has been active in various management and executive positions in the international (renewable) electricity and gas business for over 30 years at Siemens AG (Germany), SEP (the Dutch power pool and interconnected grid), KEMA Consulting/ECC (international energy consultants),Chief Executive Officer of Essent Energy Trading, Managing Director of Essent Sustainable Energy and Chairman of the Management Board of Deutsche Essent GmbH in Düsseldorf, being responsible for the German activities of Essent N.V. Paul has been instrumental in developing of non‐food biomass for power supply, wind power development and marketing of green power (an invention of Essent in 1998). During 2008/9 he was Executive Director of Econcern, NL(renewable energy and energy efficiency). He is Chairman of the Energy4AllFoundation, a non‐profit organization promoting decentralized energy and communication systems in Africa.
In addition, Paul is President of the European Federation of Energy Traders, which has been a pioneer in energy market opening and(renewable) energy trading.
In 2009 he became the founding CEO of Dii Desert Energy an industry consortium in Germany, to explore the potential of renewables in the desert areas of Northern Africa and the Middle East (MENA) and to connect them with Europe. He is the co-founder of ZETA and Chairman of the Board.
Jan Haizmann has over 15 years of experience in energy trading in a variety of corporate functions.
Since 2005, Jan has been an independent consultant to the energy trading industry, based in Brussels, advising clients on legal and regulatory aspects of energy trading. He has been appointed expert in several arbitration proceedings helping dispute resolution in complex gas and power transactions. Jan has been managing director of Correggio Consulting which he founded as a boutique consulting company in 2005. More recently he has been managing Europ AID technical assistance projects for international donors in the context of emerging energy markets in Ukraine and Turkey.
In parallel to his consulting activities, Jan holds different executive functions within the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET). He is a member of the EFET Board of Directors since 2009, has served as Chairman of the EFET Legal Committee since 2006. Furthermore, Jan was a member of the exchange council of the European Energy Exchange (EEX 2012-2020) and sits on the Advisory Board of BREC (Brussels Energy Club since 2020) he is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of ZETA.
