At COP30 Brazil, ZETA (Zero Emissions Traders Alliance) had the privilege of hosting a session at the Turkish Pavilion titled “Building Green Markets for the Energy Transition: Regional Pathways and Cooperation.”
Key takeaways from the session included:
✅ Türkiye’s forthcoming ETS is well-positioned to align with international market practices, strengthening its credibility from the outset.
✅ Transparency and integrity are emerging as essential drivers of confidence, shaping how carbon markets will function in the years ahead.
✅ The EU’s consideration of international credits could open meaningful pathways for regional collaboration and market linkage.
✅ Constructive engagement between the Global North and Global South presents clear potential to generate shared climate and economic value.
The discussion reflected a forward-looking spirit and a strong commitment to cross-regional cooperation. We are grateful to T.C. İklim Değişikliği Başkanlığı for their hospitality, and we extend our thanks to our speakers, Felix Müller (SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH), Lorna Ritchie (The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM)), and M.Mustafa Aydin (EPİAŞ) for their thoughtful contributions.
